Father says Halpin had reached his goal of playing for varsity team
A Los Gatos (Calif.) High School football player died Tuesday after collapsing in front of his high school following a team meeting to go over game film.
Michael Halpin, a 17-year-old senior defensive lineman, was not known to have any pre-existing medical condition, according to the San Jose Mercury News, other than a broken hand for which he had surgery six weeks ago.
An autopsy will be performed Wednesday.
