Who are the Super Bowl X factors?
Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt and Steelers FS Ryan Clark will be X factors, according to Scouts Inc.
After breaking down film and critiquing the teams playing in the Super Bowl, Scouts Inc. tells you who the X factors will be on Sunday.
Cardinals head coaches
Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt knows QB Ben Roethlisberger as well as Steelers coordinator Bruce Arians, from the time Whisenhunt spent in Pittsburgh as offensive coordinator. Plus, Cardinals offensive line coach Russ Grimm has a great feel for the Steelers' offensive line because he coached some of the players on that line when he was the Steelers' offensive line coach. Whisenhunt and Grimm will be able to help Arizona defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast and offensive coordinator Todd Haley because they used to practice versus the Steelers' defense. They have a good feel for blitz schemes and who to attack in the passing game. On-field adjustments will be critical, and don't be surprised if the Cardinals' coaching staff is one step ahead of the Steelers' staff all day long.
Steelers TE Heath Miller
Most people think of Miller as an athletic, pass-catching tight end, but the reality is that his versatility is outstanding. He is very underrated as a blocker, and he does an excellent job of sealing the edge on outside runs. His coaches will use motion and flex him to the outside, and he is very dangerous in the Steelers' bunch formation. He is a safety blanket for Big Ben on third down, but if Arizona tries to cover him one-on-one with a linebacker or even a safety, Miller has the advantage.
