Happy Anniversary! A look back at one big Sens-Flyers brawl
Today marks the fifth anniversary of a momentous day in hockey history.
The Philadelphia Flyers played host to the Ottawa Senators at the Wachovia Center on March 5, 2004, and what transpired was a clash that would make Mike Tyson blush. The teams combined for an NHL-record 419 penalty minutes in a tussle which featured five consecutive brawls in the final two minutes. The previous record was 406 by the Minnesota North Stars and Boston Bruins on Feb. 26, 1981.
