UConn has Maya Moore ... and you don't

HARTFORD, Conn. -- Monday's nightcap at the Big East tournament shaped up as the more intriguing of the two semifinal games, but you never know what you're going to get to see when Maya Moore takes the court. As Connecticut and Villanova lined up for the national anthem before the Huskies' 72-42 victory Monday in the Big East semifinals, strains of Evanescence were playing over the speakers at the XL Center. The song was from the group's debut album (yes, I had to look that up; I can't claim to be a huge fan), released in March 2003, right around the time Villanova handed undefeated and top-ranked Connecticut its only loss of the season in the Big East tournament. But as my waistline, if perhaps not Harry Perretta's hairline, attests, it's not 2003.
