Scott: It was time to hand over the reins

WTA chairman and chief executive Larry Scott will step down in June to become commissioner of the Pac-10 conference after leading the women's tour since 2003. Scott, 44, has spent his entire career in tennis, starting as a player, and also served as chief operating officer for the ATP. The native New Yorker will relocate from the WTA's headquarters in St. Petersburg, Fla., to the Bay Area with his wife and three children to tackle the business of a sports empire he has observed only from afar ...
