It's funny how things turn out.
On July 1 (it seems oh so long ago), St. Louis' management team wasn't too thrilled with its peers in Vancouver. On the opening day of free agency, the Canucks signed Blues winger David Backes to a three-year, $7.5 million offer sheet.
