Four-run fifth inning gives Rice 5-0 cushion

HOUSTON -- Kansas State coach Brad Hill gambled, trying to pitch around Diego Seastrunk in order to face national freshman of the year candidate Anthony Rendon.

So much for that strategy.

Rendon ripped a two-run single that that sparked a four-run uprising in the fifth inning, boosting Rice to a 5-0 lead after five innings.
