  • Pittsburgh's mix is now Tony Sanchez, Zack Wheeler, Matt Hobgood and Grant Green. There's some thought they could take Aaron Crow and offer him slot, given his lack of leverage.
  • Baltimore taking Wheeler, San Francisco taking Tyler Matzek and Atlanta taking Alex White all seem pretty strong. Atlanta would love to take Matt Purke, but the word is the higher-ups won't allow them to pay that much over slot.
  • Colorado is on Bobby Borchering at 11, perhaps even over Hobgood.
  • Kansas City is on Mike Leake at No. 12. That would mean Oakland would choose between Green, Mike Trout and maybe Donovan Tate at No. 13.
  • Milwaukee isn't likely to go over slot at No. 26. They did make an over-slot overture to a high school player who's not likely to go ahead of them for signability reasons, but were turned down.
  • Max Stassi worked out at Fenway on Tuesday for the Red Sox.
  • One potential destination for one of the high-ceiling high school arms is St. Louis, which is particularly high on Purke.
