Querrey halts Santoro's grass court run
NEWPORT, R.I. -- Sam Querrey of the United States used his big serve to upset two-time defending champion Fabrice Santoro of France, 6-3, 7-6 (2), on Saturday to reach the finals of the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships.
His win sets up the first all-American final in seven years. The 21-year-old Querrey ended Santoro's dominance on Newport's grass courts. Santoro, the second seed, was 12-0 and had lost just one set before the upset.
