Don't be scared of Raiders' Asomugha

I know there are some fantasy football owners who study the strengths and weaknesses of every NFL defensive back as well as the weekly matchups to see which of their wide receivers they want to activate. Just so you know, I'm not that guy. I play my best wide receivers 99 percent of the time. Of course, if I have two relatively even choices and one plays the Lions and the other the Ravens it figures into the decision, or makes the decision for me. My point is, my decision-making isn't generally affected by defensive backs.

There are, however, two names that always stand out. One of them has a chipped bone in his wrist and will wear a cast for six weeks.

The Raiders say Nnamdi Asomugha will play in the opening game against the San Diego Chargers. Ordinarily, if I was a Vincent Jackson owner I would certainly consider my bench options to see if it was worth using him that week. He's probably the one matched up with Jackson. I mean, why would the Raiders waste a dominant bump-and-run corner like Asomugha on Chris Chambers? Anyway, last season Jackson had one blah game against Oakland, and one monster effort with 148 yards and a touchdown, and it certainly appears that others covered him, including Chris Johnson (no, not that Chris Johnson). If you sat Jackson that day, it was the wrong move. I can say what I would have done that week: I wouldn't have sat Jackson.
