Red Sox start whittling down postseason roster
Bowden, Brown head to Fort Myers
BOSTON -- The Red Sox have begun whittling down their postseason roster.
The club has told several players where they will be heading in the coming days. Reliever Junichi Tazawa will accompany the club to Anaheim and remain with the team for Games 1 and 2 but will then fly home to Japan.
"That way we give him a taste of what it's like,'' manager Terry Francona said. "It made no sense for him to fly there, then fly back here to Boston and then fly all the way home.''
