The NHL Central Scouting released its preliminary rankings (Fall 2009) for the draft class of 2010. The rankings are broken into several categories. There are skaters' lists for each of the three CHL leagues (QMJHL, OHL, WHL) and the USHL as well as several European and Scandinavian countries and an NCAA "watch list." Goaltenders are ranked separately in their respective leagues/countries. You can find the complete lists here.

The newsiest item was Central Scouting's decision to rank Plymouth C Tyler Seguin ahead of Windsor C Taylor Hall on the OHL list (Seguin was listed first, Hall second). Based on the conversations I've been having with different amateur scouts, I'm not surprised that Seguin owns a slight edge over Hall. Again, that's based on what I've been hearing. To date, I haven't seen either talented prospect play.
