The third year of the Puerto Rico Classic has produced a good, solid field with one top-10 team (Villanova), two more top-25 teams (Georgia Tech, Dayton) and two squads that have serious postseason aspirations (Ole Miss, Kansas State). Meanwhile, Indiana continues Year 2 of Tom Crean's project to resurrect Hoosier basketball, and two very good mid-major programs, George Mason and Boston University, round out the field.

The tourney is played at San Juan's beautiful new downtown arena, the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, and with the bracket filled with better and better teams -- North Carolina is committed for next November -- the Puerto Rico Classic offers a nice alternative to the Maui Invitational.

Here is a look at the teams, players and interesting storylines for this tournament, which begins Thursday morning with a fascinating battle between ranked teams.
