Young named Rangers' player of the year

The Rangers announced that third baseman Michael Young was named the club's player of the year by the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the Baseball Writers' Association of America.

Young led the team in batting average at .322, the fifth-highest average in the American League. It was the sixth time he hit at least .300, the most ever by a Ranger.
