Tanner Hall Out Of Winter X

Injury will keep Hall from WX for first time ever

For the first time since he debuted at Winter X in 2000, Tanner Hall, age 26, will miss the event. While filming for Teton Gravity Research in May '09 at Stevens Pass, Wash., Hall overshot the landing of a jump. The impact of the crash broke both of his tibial plateaus and blew out both ACLs. He won't be ready for snow until summer 2010.

Tanner is the only athlete in WX history to three-peat gold in two different disciplines: Slopestyle (2002-04) and SuperPipe (2006-08). Hall ...
