Illinois supplants Northwestern for No. 1 spot

1. Illinois (9-5) -- The Illini had two overtimes games go different ways last week. They defeated Northwestern and lost to Gonzaga. It's looking like Illinois may be a year away from doing anything serious. Their freshmen are talented, but still too erratic.
