Svendsen climbs to 2nd in standings

RUHPOLDING, Germany -- Emil Hegle Svendsen of Norway won his second straight biathlon World Cup race on Saturday, while Tim Burke of the United States had three misses to finish 19th.

Svendsen shot cleanly in the 15-kilometer sprint and finished in 39 minutes, 19.5 seconds. World Cup leader Evgeny Ustyugov of Russia trailed by 5.1 seconds. The Russian had one miss in four rounds through the shooting range. Simon Eder of Austria was third.
