Tristan Thompson is down but not out, at least for long. Thompson, the 6-foot-9 center from Findlay College Prep in Henderson, Nev., suffered ankle injury last month at a tournament in Florida.

Thompson and 6-3 senior guard Mark Petrovic each tore ankle tendons during loss to the host school on Jan. 30 in the finals of the Montverde (Fla.) Academy Invitational Tournament. Petrovic, a combo guard from Croatia, went down on the first play of the game and the Texas-bound Thompson was injured late in the opening quarter.

The Pilots (25-2) lost to Montverde, 54-51, despite an MVP performance from guard Cory Joseph.
