The battle lines are already being drawn between Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez and Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio as the two pursue the top prospects from the state of Michigan.

At this point, there are four prospects in the state of Michigan that Dantonio and Rodriguez have both offered a scholarship to, including the No. 1 prospect in Michigan, linebacker Lawrence Thomas (Detroit/Renaissance). The 6-foot-4, 235-pounder has scholarship offers from over a dozen schools including Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida, Alabama, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. Thomas says he does not have a favorite, but he has visited Michigan State a number of times and it seems safe to say the Spartans don't trail anyone.

Wide receiver DeAnthony Arnett (Saginaw, Mich./Saginaw) has seen his scholarship offer list rise to 10 -- Michigan, Michigan State, Oregon, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Iowa, Purdue and Tennessee. Like Thomas, the 5-11, 160-pounder says he has no early leader. He has attended junior days at both Michigan and Michigan State.
