Carl Crawford fixes a hitch in his base-stealing step
In the first two months of last season, Carl Crawford attempted 31 stolen bases -- and was successful on 30 of those. But then somewhere along the way through the long summer, his rate of success dropped precipitously.
Crawford was thrown out 15 times in his last 45 attempts, and while he thought that this may have been due, partly, to the physical grind of the long season, his legs actually felt pretty good in the second half, after his rigorous offseason workouts before the season. And in the last four months of the season, he kept getting thrown out by just a millisecond or two. He was convinced that he was doing something wrong.
