Spain to invest in women's tennis
MADRID -- Spain's tennis federation will invest $271,000 in its flagging women's game as it faces dropping out of the World Group zone for the first time in Fed Cup history.
President Jose Luis Escanuela says the federation will look to hold more top-level tournaments and create a national center to help nurture talent. Their fortunes have fallen behind the Spanish men, who won a second straight Davis Cup title last year.
