We've talked a lot already about The Woodlands HS ace Jameson Taillon, but he's not the only prep arm with a chance at the Top 10. Chipley HS (Fla.) right-hander Karsten Whitson impressed all last summer, including the Under Armour games, where Keith Law gunned him at 91-94 mph with a low-80s slider and a changeup that displayed split-finger action. Whitson got his first start of 2010 Friday and sat 92-94 mph, touching 96, according to one scout, and flashed the sharp slider. "He was pretty much as advertised," said the scout, who hadn't seen Whitson outside of Team USA. "The fastball was consistent, and he worked both sides." Whitson took the loss but was overpowering early, striking out the side in the first two frames.
