Oilers save money on deals

The Edmonton Oilers traded veteran defenseman Steve Staios to the Calgary Flames in exchange for prospect Aaron Johnson and a third-round draft pick.

It is believed to be the first-ever trade involving a regular roster player between the two provincial rivals.
