Sheets knocking himself from sleeper status

Well, at least the game and its statistics didn't count, right?

Ben Sheets really got lit up Monday afternoon in Goodyear, Ariz., and it wasn't just one of those normal bad lines that fantasy baseball owners cringe about. It was downright hard to fathom. Sheets didn't retire any Cincinnati Reds. He faced 10 hitters. He allowed 10 runs, nine of them earned. His Oakland Athletics, uh, lost the game.

"I felt great," Sheets said. "The problem is my good pitches were just a strike, and my bad ones were hits. You need your good pitches to be put in play. That's how you get outs. When you can't even get out of the first inning, it's ridiculous."
