Russian skier refused to give sample
OBERHOFEN, Switzerland -- The International Ski Federation banned Russian cross-country skier Elena Vedeneeva from competing for two years after she refused to take a drug test.
The FIS said Vedeneeva would not give a sample to a World Anti-Doping Agency testing team while training last November.
The 38-year-old Vedeneeva was never a prominent skier, and only has four career World Cup starts.
