Bright lights bring out the best
We pegged it as the matchup of the weekend and neither Deck McGuire nor Matt Harvey disappointed Friday, going at it for seven innings of a 2-1 Georgia Tech win over North Carolina. McGuire was the sharper of the two, allowing six hits and a run and striking out 10. He walked three and hit the strike zone with 68 of his 110 pitches. Harvey needed 135 pitches to get through his seven frames and walked six along the way, but struck out 11 and allowed just three hits and one earned run.
