Ranaudo returns strong after injury
Right-hander Anthony Ranaudo returned to the mound for the first time since February 19 and showed solid velocity and command during two scoreless frames Saturday. Ranaudo sat out five weeks with a sore elbow, and LSU head coach Paul Mainieri played it safe with his ace. LSU won both games of the double-header and swept the road series at Tennessee, but "the biggest development of the day was the performance of Anthony Ranaudo," Mainieri said. "He felt great and pitched without pain, and he hit 93 (mph) with his fastball. We'll continue to monitor his progress, but I was very pleased with his outing today."
