The annual NCAA coaching carousel is in full swing and this year the New York/tri-state area is being hit especially hard. St. John's, Seton Hall, Fordham, Siena, Hofstra and Iona have already seen coaching changes and with several of these jobs still open there are plenty of dominoes left to fall.

On Sunday when Siena head coach Fran McCaffery left to take over at the University of Iowa, New York native Melsahn Basabe (Glen Cove, N.Y./St. Mark's) became the latest player to be impacted by the coaching carousel.

Basabe, who stars at St. Mark's School in Southborough, Mass., turned down over a dozen mid- to high-major scholarship offers this fall in order to commit to play for McCaffery at Siena.
