Shortstop Jose Reyes went 1-for-5 with a double Tuesday in a minor league exhibition game, his first game since May. Reyes also played three innings in the field against the Cardinals' Triple-A team, and afterward he claimed his balky hamstring felt fine. Reyes might be ready for Opening Day after all.

Spring numbers might not mean much, but those watching Minnesota Twins left-hander Francisco Liriano have to enjoy what they're seeing. Liriano struck out eight Pittsburgh Pirates over six shutout innings Tuesday, and now boasts a 2.70 ERA this spring, with 30 strikeouts and only five walks in 20 innings. It does seem like the old Liriano has returned.
