Carlos Zambrano became the most expensive reliever in baseball on Wednesday when Cubs manager Lou Piniella informed him that he's being moved to the bullpen.

Piniella has had success as a manager in his career partly because he has instilled a sense of urgency in his teams. Most managers move glacially, waiting and waiting for established players to perform to past levels. Piniella doesn't. He reacts aggressively to losses, and in the early stages of this season, what he must see in the Cubs is a team that is not taking advantage of a pillow-soft schedule.
