• Another strong performance by Kansas City Royals ace Zack Greinke was wasted by a brutal bullpen, an ongoing problem I blogged about Tuesday. Greinke tossed seven shutout innings against the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night, but then relievers Josh Rupe, Robinson Tejeda and Bruce Chen blew the 2-0 lead and lost. Greinke is terrific, but don't count on more than 12 wins.

• The Oakland Athletics middle infield had a productive Tuesday night, as second baseman Adam Rosales and shortstop Cliff Pennington each delivered four hits. Pennington homered and knocked in four runs. Both players bring power potential, and could soon become relevant for 10-team mixed leagues.
