The search for quick call-ups
In the past two drafts we have seen players reach the majors quickly, including nine from the class of 2008.
From last year's class, Mike Leake of the Cincinnati Reds (No. 8 in the draft) never threw a pitch in the minors and is 3-0 with a 3.10 ERA in six starts so far at the big league level. A handful of others, including top pick Stephen Strasburg and fellow right-hander Tanner Scheppers, are on the brink of getting the call.
