"Why is it important to be an Oiler?"
Mark Seidel is the chief scout for North American Central Scouting, and on CBC.com, he listed reasons why teams make mistakes in the draft. Among his suggestions was this: "It's not a glamorous part of the job, but setting up meetings with guidance (counselors), billets and teachers can provide vital information on the character of a kid and whether he has the makeup to become a star or a bust."
We've already seen Kirrill Kabanov's (No. 31 N.A. skater) stock plummet because of character concerns, but that one was easy. Edmonton Oilers GM Steve Tambellini reportedly wants to play Dr. Phil and sit down with the two potential No. 1 picks -- Tyler Seguin (profiled here) and Taylor Hall (profiled here) -- to gain insight on their character.
One thing he plans to ask, according to the Edmonton Journal: Why is it important to be an Oiler?
Talk about a tough interview question.
