Box Score Bits: Zobrist homers, Maine hurt
• Atlanta Braves reserve Brooks Conrad hit a walk-off grand slam Thursday, completing an improbable seven-run ninth inning against the Cincinnati Reds. The 30-year-old infielder clearly has power, topping 20 home runs in four of the past five minor league seasons. If Chipper Jones or Martin Prado gets hurt, Conrad could get a look.
• Kansas City Royals right-hander Luke Hochevar pitched his third career complete game Thursday, allowing three runs and four hits in a 9-3 win against the struggling Cleveland Indians. Hochevar, the first overall pick of the 2006 draft, has a 5.88 career ERA. It's likely this performance is a more telling indictment of the Grady Sizemore-less Indians offense.
