Fantasy owners should not avoid Big Ben

The most important thing for fantasy football owners to remember about the unfortunate "Ben Roethlisberger situation," which continues to play out before our very eyes (and ears) and won't go away anytime soon, is that ours is a game about statistics. That's it.

We don't have to break bread with the players we rely on for statistical prowess. I recall drafting Barry Bonds a few times during his crazy home run seasons and fellow owners would mock me for "liking" an unlikable player. Let's have some perspective here: I hardly know for sure what the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback did or did not do with his free time the past couple of months, but it's just not relevant to a fantasy football blog discussing his value, and neither are my personal feelings about him. What matters is the player is a valuable fantasy asset. That's all.
