Baseball welcomes three interesting stories

Stephen Strasburg arrived in the big leagues right on schedule. After he changed his physical condition and separated himself from his peers in college, his talent and his work ethic translated into performance, and he was drafted No. 1 overall. He signed at the moment we all thought he would sign, and moved through the minor leagues on a regimented timetable, shaped by development needs and an arbitration clock, and he required exactly one start in the majors to show everybody how extraordinary he could be.
