Thinking twice about USC

The penalties the NCAA hit USC with, including a two-year ban on bowl games, certainly impact far more prospects than Lane Kiffin and his staff are recruiting on the West Coast. The Trojans' recruiting net stretches far and wide and most definitely includes the Midwest. Kiffin and his staff have offered a scholarship to over a half dozen prospects in Big Ten country that have yet to select a college. Among them are defensive back Doran Grant (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) and three of the top offensive linemen in the Midwest -- Kiaro Holts (Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central), Aundrey Walker (Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville) and Jordan Walsh (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West). Grant, the No. 67 prospect in the ESPNU 150, is currently on the Raw Talent Bus Tour of college football camps. The tour heads to the West Coast later this week with stops at Cal, USC and UCLA.
