Chicago Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez continued his July assault on pitchers, smacking three home runs and knocking in seven runs against the beleaguered Houston Astros on Tuesday. Ramirez, wisely on ESPN's most-added list, has 15 home runs and 47 RBIs and is hitting .226. On July 5, Ramirez was hitting .178 with six home runs and 23 RBIs.

Texas Rangers right-hander Tommy Hunter continues to shine, tossing seven innings of three-hit, shutout ball in Detroit. Hunter raised his mark to 7-0 and lowered his ERA to 2.09, incredible numbers considering his low strikeout rate. Hunter fanned three Tigers. He remains available in 40.2 percent of ESPN standard leagues.
