Detroit Tigers right-hander Rick Porcello allowed two singles in seven shutout innings Tuesday, his best outing in a disappointing sophomore season. Porcello got his sixth win in 17 decisions, but after inducing double-digit ground ball outs his previous three starts, more of his outs came on fly balls. Let's see more strong outings before trusting Porcello.

A young pitcher everyone should be trusting is Oakland Athletics left-hander Gio Gonzalez. Unlike Porcello, Gonzalez accrues strikeouts. Gonzalez fanned seven Cleveland Indians in seven shutout innings Tuesday in getting his 11th victory. Gonzalez is 10th in the American League with a 3.24 ERA and has a 1.27 WHIP despite a league-leading walk total. He should be owned in most standard leagues.
