Vania King, Yaroslava Shvedova win

NEW YORK -- American Vania King and Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan saved a match point then went on to win the U.S. Open women's doubles title in a third-set tiebreaker.

King and Shvedova, seeded sixth, beat second-seeded Liezel Huber of the United States and Nadia Petrova of Russia 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) on Monday. Their match had been suspended by rain in the third set Sunday with King and Shvedova three points from defeat.
