Kirkland happy to be free to fight again
Junior middleweight contender James Kirkland was released from Bastrop Federal Prison outside of his hometown of Austin, Texas, on Thursday and planned to resume training immediately, co-manager Cameron Dunkin told ESPN.com.
Kirkland (25-0, 22 KOs) will spend the next few months at a halfway house in Austin, but will be allowed to train. Dunkin said he will also look for a part-time job.
