Charles Burks commits to USC Trojans

Earlier in the year, USC offered Huntington Beach (Calif.) Edison athlete Charles Burks a conditional scholarship hoping the lineman could graduate early to count as part of the class of 2010. Monday night, the Trojans took off the conditions to the offer and Burks wasted no time in jumping on it. "Coach [Ed] Orgeron called me up and said I had a regular offer with no conditions and I committed on the spot," Burks said. "I was so excited and have always liked SC. It's a great program with a great coaching staff and I'm very excited to be a Trojan. "Coach Orgeron said they want me at linebacker and then to move down to defensive end on third downs. He talked about fullback too and I'm fine with however they want to use me. I'm just really hyped right now and excited this is all behind me."
