Kent St. to retire Josh Cribbs' No. 9

CLEVELAND -- Kent State is retiring Josh Cribbs' No. 9 jersey, honoring the Cleveland Browns' star who played quarterback for the Golden Flashes.

The school will retire Cribbs' number during halftime of Kent State's game against Ball State on Oct. 30.

Cribbs, who holds the NFL record with eight kickoff returns for touchdowns, set several marks during his four seasons (2001-04) at Kent. He holds the career passing record with 7,169 yards, and is the in rushing touchdowns, completions, ...
