The forecast may be bleak, but life on the North Shore hasn't slowed.
North Shore time runs on a different clock, the surf clock. About ten days ago we had some great Pipe days, only a week ago Parko won Haleiwa, and since then, not a lot has gone down. We had some days of smaller, fun surf as the Haleiwa contest finished, a little six- to eight-foot bump the day before Thanksgiving, and now it's been flat for a few days. It's been so slow that it seems like O'Neill's World Cup of Surfing hasn't even started, even though they ran one day of competition. ...
