Beware Terrence Jones, Kentucky fans
Below is what I think we know -- and some of what we still need to know -- as the early season tournaments are concluding. I spoke to a good deal of coaches, some on my radio show and some casually, to put together these observations. The most logical place to start seems to be the Connecticut Huskies.
Obviously, Kemba Walker has been terrific. What makes Walker so different is his newfound voice as a leader, whereas last year he seemed ill prepared for Jerome Dyson's lack of leadership and did not take the torch and run with it. Walker is going to his left more but still prefers to drive right and shoot stationary jumpers with his left hand.
One note of interest: One player who played against him texted me, "Dang, refs are protecting Kemba walker like crazy, you cannot touch him or he is at the line".
For Doug's comprehensive take on early tourneys, you need to be an ESPN Insider.
