Mike Brown suspended 3 games

TORONTO -- Toronto Maple Leafs right winger Mike Brown was suspended for three games without play by the NHL on Friday for a hit to the head on Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Ed Jovanovski.

Late in the second period in Phoenix's 5-1 home victory Thursday night, Brown leveled Jovanovski with a shoulder hit to the head. No penalty was called on the play. Jovanovski sat out the third period because of a lower-body injury sustained on the play, the Coyotes said after the game.
