Gavin DeCapua wins prop bet contest
They were complicated, creative and coded. They were smart, silly and sarcastic. But mostly, what the entries for this year's Get Your Prop Up in Vegas contest were was plentiful.
More than 380 of you sent in suggestions via Twitter and e-mail -- and many of you sent in multiple ideas (thank you, Michael Majewski of Vestal, N.Y., for your eight in the first 24 hours), bringing the total entries to well more than 430. I sent a batch to Bob Scucci at The Orleans Hotel & Casino on Friday night. As the man posting the winning prop in his sportsbook, he is the one who had the final say. I sent over another group on Sunday afternoon. Then we went over the third round of stragglers late in the day on Monday.
"Honestly, putting up props for us is such a pain; I may just have fans do all the work next year," Scooch says. "Because the suggestions were amazing."
He's right. So let's review a bunch.
