Organizers cancel Deaflympics
BRATISLAVA, Slovakia -- The International Committee of Deaf Sports says the 17th Winter Deaflympics in Slovakia has been canceled because of a "comprehensive failure" of local organizers to deliver what they promised.
ICDS chief executive Tiffany Granfors said in a statement Sunday "we are heartbroken ... and we are working as hard as we can to mitigate the effect it will have on deaf athletes and deaf sport."
