The annual Walter Payton Man of the Year Award is given to an NFL player to honor his commitment to charity as well as his on-field achievements. This year's recipient is Sierra Leone-born Madieu Williams, a Minnesota Vikings safety who spends significant chunks of his free time working to improve the impoverished conditions of his homeland, which he left at age 9.
