Fairfield to get boost from transfers

Friday's piece on 2011 bracket buster prospects highlights some of the best high school players who spurned interest, and in many cases, offers from higher level schools in order to make an immediate impact at the mid-major level. While that analysis did a great job of pinpointing some of the top high school prospects headed to bracket buster programs, often times those programs make their biggest additions via transfers. Of all the mid-major programs in the Northeast, perhaps none will get a bigger transfer boost next season than Fairfield. While coach Ed Cooley has the Stags heading into the postseason in first place in the MAAC, he has done it with arguably his two most talented players waiting on the sideline. Rakim Sanders will have one season of eligibility remaining after spending the last three years at Boston College.
